You can book any test here yourself, without going through your GP first.
Plenty of people come to us because somebody else asked them to. If your GP, hospital consultant or treating doctor has requested particular bloods, we are happy to take those. The same goes if your personal trainer or nutritionist has suggested a panel: bring their list, or send it over beforehand, and we will make sure the right tests are ordered.

70 profiles is a lot to pick from, and the right one depends on what you are actually trying to find out. Book your blood test appointment, then email us what is on your mind. We will confirm which profile answers it and have the right tests ordered for when you arrive.

HOW IT WORKS

Book an appointment
A short appointment at Yarm or Harrogate. We take the sample and send it to one of our UKAS accredited laboratory partners for analysis.
STEP 3
Receive your report
Your laboratory report comes back to you, ready to share with whoever looks after your care.

What the summary is, and isn’t
The summary tells you what your results show. It is not the same as a full consultation with a clinician who has your complete medical history in front of them, and it is not meant to replace one.
Depending on what comes back, Dr Kavadas may recommend a further consultation, which we can arrange, or that you discuss the results with your GP or treating specialist. Either way you will be told clearly what she suggests as the next step.
Turnaround. Many results are back within 48 hours. Others take a few days, and a small number of specialist tests take longer still. Rather than quote a figure that would not hold for every panel, we will tell you what to expect for your particular test when you book.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
One price, phlebotomy included
Every profile listed includes the blood draw. Nothing separate to pay afterwards, no membership and no subscription.
Need the draw on its own, because you are bringing a kit from another testing service or your doctor has arranged the analysis elsewhere? A phlebotomy appointment by itself is £35.

Before you book
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book any profile on this site yourself. If your own doctor or a hospital specialist has asked for particular bloods we are happy to take those, and the same applies if your personal trainer or nutritionist has recommended a panel. Send their list over and we will order the right tests.
Is the blood draw included in the price?
Yes, for every profile in our catalogue. A phlebotomy appointment on its own, if you are bringing a kit from another testing service, is £35.
How quickly will I get my results?
Many come back within 48 hours, some take a few days, and a small number of specialist tests take longer. We will tell you what to expect for your specific test when you book.
Will you explain my results to me?
Yes, up to a point. You receive the full laboratory report and a written summary from Dr Kavadas setting out what it shows. If anything is dangerously abnormal she will contact you directly. Where results warrant more than a summary, she will either recommend a consultation, which we can arrange, or that you discuss them with your GP or treating specialist, who has your full history.
Can I bring a kit from another testing company?
Yes. We can take the sample for you at either clinic for £35. Get in touch to book a phlebotomy-only appointment.
Do I need to fast beforehand?
It depends on the panel. Lipid and glucose measurements are usually most reliable after an overnight fast, and some hormone tests are timed to your cycle or to the morning. We will tell you exactly how to prepare when you book.
Where are your clinics, and which days?
Yarm and Harrogate. Dr Kavadas is at Harrogate one day a week, usually a Monday, and at Yarm on the other days. Appointments run 9am to 6pm, with evenings and weekends available on request.
